Ell-jay Icons

I need more Ell-Jay icons. Well, okay, no I really don't. I want more Ell-jay icons. So, I made some.

I had an old icon of me as a Sudowoodo that needed an upgrade. The old one, seen below, was made a year ago.

And here is the new one.

I'm a fan of Sudowoodo. It's such a silly-looking Pokémon. Not only that, it has a marvelous face. Sudowoodo is the essence of the " : | " emote. There are so many situations where all you can say is ":|", so a Sudowoodo icon? Well, that's perfection incarnate, that is.

Subtle Juxtaposition

This first post is a wee bit hypocritical. I promised all you denizens of the internet something unrelated to COD, and then I gave you two important characters in a bullshit setting. Yeah, I don't know what's with the Can You Feel the Love Tonight waterfall, either. I think I'd like it in another picture, but it's just out of place here.

This sketch started as a simple set of anatomy sketches that somehow wound up in front of a waterfall. I like some parts of this one, such as the nonsensical background and every part of Creator. I don't know why he has such a prominent butt, but I like it.

I dislike pretty much everything else. I don't know what's wrong with Tara, but I don't like it, and I apparently can't fix it. Believe me, I've tried. I wish I had those hours back.

Even with its flaws, this picture is very important. It's more than a few months old, but it shows when I really got a handle on color theory. Cell-shading was something I just could not do before this picture. Hopefully getting the hang of these two things will help the comic in the future.

...Tara's face still sucks.

Introductions

So, this will pretty much be my new sketch blog. Unlike the CODComic blog, I will post anything and everything here. Well, alright, everything except for extreme violence, pornography, questionable materials, or nipples. Yes, I'm sure you're all very disappointed. Tough.

I suppose you want to know why I'd make a new blog if it's going to be tamer than the CODComic blog. For starters, the COD blog is only for the comic. Contrary to popular belief, I do draw things unrelated to COD. In fact, I draw unrelated silly things most of the time. I just never know where to put them.

What does this mean for you as a reader? It means the quality of sketches posted here will be all over the place. One weeks post might be gorgeous, and the next week's post might be drawn on an Applebees receipt. I will try to update weekly, which will almost guarantee low quality posts, but at least they will be posts. I've had a tendency to forget about my blogs for long periods of time, so hopefully this blog will be the end of that.

Now, onto the real posts.
